Seconded to Ithaca Energy (previously Chevron UK). I am the Lead Engineer of a team responsible for delivering the Captain Field (FPSO, WPPA & BLPA) Honeywell ICSS Upgrade Project. My responsibilities include: Project direction and control, providing input into both the TAR & integrated project plans, management of Honeywell, setting & approval of vendor milestones, review & approval of Honeywell, Petrofac & Ithaca project deliverables (SRS, Functional Safety Management Plan, Cyber Security Management Plan, design freeze mod packs, FAT & SAT Specifications) & construction workpacks. The team completed a 12-month FAT which concluded the design phase of the project. FAT included a 100% test of 11 ESD & F&G controller applications which were migrated from FSC to Safety Manager, 100% test of 530 Experion PKS graphics, migrated from TDC Native Window, integration of new C300 controllers which were used to replicate Native Window scripted shapes and condition statements, hardware testing of new EHPM Controllers, Experion Servers & FTE Network. In March 2020 I lead the offshore Pre-TAR commissioning & SAT for the Experion PKS Servers & Orion Consoles. Destruct of the TDC Operator consoles was completed during the TAR in October 2021 in conjunction with the upgrade to Safety Manger & EHPM. I was the offshore focal point on the FPSO during the TAR, overseeing the construction, commissioning and SAT, all of which was successfully completed to plan in a 3 week turn around. The project is now in the FEED stage of Phase 3 which is to upgrade the FSC series 1 I/O and upgrade the LCN and associated nodes to a virtual ELCN.

Dana Petroleum topside modification for the Evelyn over Triton subsea tie back. Responsible for approval of I&C input to the CTR & Proposal. Specification for new TUTU & Chemical Distribution Panels, Honeywell ICSS SOR for integration of chemical injection and topside HPU/EPU/MCS. Instrument tubing & cabling work pack deliverables. Review and approval of all Honeywell design deliverables, ensuring quality in line with the clients expectation.

Project Manager for Chevron Captain F&G C&E As-building Project. I was responsible for delivering 120 as-built C&E diagrams. C&E’s were as-built to the live application of seven FSC F&G controllers.

Dana Petroleum SIS modification project. I applied guidance from API14C to complete a review of the allocated safety functions, which resulted in a reduction of scope and significant cost saving for the client. Completed project deliverables & activities: Interface measurement technology study, resulting in the use of Magnetostrictive level instruments for interface level measurement, PFD calculations for modified SIF’s, update to client SRS, workpack design deliverables, input into FTA/LOPA for packed riser scenario, review of Honeywell FDS/HMI/SAT documentation, offshore commissioning procedure and certification at SH1.

Apache SIF definition project, providing guidance on the SIF design intent for all Forties assets.

Seconded to Chevron to deliver the Captain FPSO ICSS FEED Study, to migrate TDC3000 HPM & FSC to Experion PKS, EHPM & Safety Manager. Acting on behalf of Chevron I produced the project Scope of Work and managed Honeywell through FEED, including FPSO ICSS offshore as-building survey. Based on the content of the PHA/SOA I delivered the Captain SIL Verification Project which included definition of the SIF final elements, hardware verification and a SIL gap analysis report. Yokogawa GTI ESD C&E As-building. I delivered Scope of Works for the Alba North F&G Upgrade Project & the Captain WPPA HVAC Controls Upgrade, providing technical direction during FEED and resolution of any project technical queries.

Control system design to comply with regulations, produce PFD’s, instrument loop, termination & block diagrams. Coded, tested and commissioned C200 PLC application using Honeywell Control Builder, design, build, test & commission Experion PKS graphics using HMI Web Builder, PID Controller tuning; project close out & as-building.

Designed & developed an automated Wort O.G. measuring system using a Profi-bus CMF 300 Coriolis Meter, removing the requirement for manual hydrometer dip test, implementing Profibus network as part of the design.
Project managed, designed & commissioned the control system upgrade of the Glenrothes Stillhouse, from Leeds & Northrup Micromax to Honeywell Plantscape R500. Including upgrade of all electrical equipment to comply with DSEAR / ATEX.

Designed & commissioned the instrument, control and electrical installation of a 2nd distillery at Macallan, a £4 million Greenfield investment. Macallan is a top tier COMAH site.
Project managed, designed & commissioned the automation of the No1 Mashouse at The Macallan Distillery, in conjunction with concentrating site operations to a centralised control room, utilising Honeywell Experion PKS. In place of conventional I/O I designed and installed a new As-i Bus network. All field digital I/O was addressed on this network, including the new Saftronic’s MCC, which I specified with As-I Bus nodes in each cubicle.
